Job Description

A dynamic manufacturing company is looking for a Mechanical / Aerodynamic Engineer with experience designing blades for centrifugal and-or axial gas compressors. Must have experience producing designs for complete stages from design through fabrication using mean line or multiple stream line analysis tools. Responsibilities: -> Use your experience in compressor design to produce efficient designs of centrifugal compressors for gas systems -> Design complete compressor stages including blades inlet guide vanes and diffuser rings -> Perform mean line and-or multiple stream line analysis using Concepts NRECs Agile software to calculate the performance of the compressor stages -> Model the stages using SolidWorks and produce fully defined fabrication documents -> Complete the design testing using test cells -> Oversee the fabrication and stage assembly Requirements: -> BS in Mechanical Engineering or similar -> 5 or more years experience in the rotating machinery industry -> 2 or more years experience designing components for centrifugal or axial gas compressors -> Experience performing mean line analysis and-or multiple stream line analysis -> Experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics ( CFD ) analysis is a plus but not sufficient in lieu of main line or multiple stream line analysis -> Experience using parametric modeling software such as SolidWorks -> Experience with one or more of the following: vibration analysis rotor design test cell design and operation rotating seal design power train and gear design and-or centrifugal compressor design -> Understanding of basic thermodynamic concepts and basic gas dynamic concepts are a plus -> Experience with materials and processes used in high speed rotating equipment such as cast irons aluminum alloy steels high temperature alloys and casting forging etc. is a plus Benefits: -> Great benefits -> Vacation and PTO -> Relocation assistance may be available for the right candidate s: mechanical design engineer design engineer mechanical engineer development engineer electro-mechanical engineer electro mechanical engineer mechanical engineering mechanical designer mechanical design bsme milling machining machine shop fabrication stamping press brake turret tooling cnc computer numerical control lathe turret punch fabriwind metalsoft amada trumpf quickpart qcam open cnc microturn manufacturing interactives opencnc zero m creative evolution fabrix cnc station mastercam dialog programming dncnet true cnc rockford cnc e.e.p.d. envader inperio pentation profive autocursor panel-nc prototrack lathe turret metal soft turning milling drilling boring grinding solid edge solidedge solid works solidworks solidwork agile compaero blade blades
